Generally speaking, thermistors are highly sensitive to temperature, so it is not appropriate to use a meter to measure its resistance. This is because the working current of the multimeter is relatively large, which will generate heat when flowing through the thermistor and change the resistance value. However, it is also easy to judge whether the thermistor can work with a multimeter. The specific detection methods of the thermistor are as follows:

Turn the multimeter to the ohm gear (the gear is determined according to the nominal resistance value), clamp the two pins of the thermistor with an alligator clip instead of a probe, and record the resistance value at this time; Then hold the thermistor by hand and observe the universal number. At this time, the displayed data (the pointer will move slowly) will change with the increase of temperature, which indicates that the resistance value is changing gradually (the negative temperature coefficient thermistor resistance will decrease, and the positive temperature coefficient thermistor resistance will increase).

When the resistance value changes to a certain value, the displayed data (pointer) will gradually stabilize. If the ambient temperature is close to the body temperature, this method will not work. At this time, an electric iron or a boiling water cup can be used to heat near or close to the thermistor, and the resistance value will also change.

In this way, it can be proved that the temperature coefficient thermistor is good.

When testing the negative temperature coefficient thermistor with a multimeter, it should be noted that the nominal resistance value on the thermistor is not necessarily equal to the reading of the multimeter. This is because the nominal resistance is measured with a special instrument at 25 ℃,

When measuring with a multimeter, there is a certain current passing through the thermistor to generate heat, and the ambient temperature is not necessarily 25 ℃, so errors will inevitably occur
