    Temperature measurement principle of NTC temperature sensor.infrared sensor lens manufacturer

      We know that the resistance of the NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) temperature sensor decreases significantly as the temperature rises, and it is a thermistor with a negative temperature coefficient. It is mainly made of metal oxides such as manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al), and is manufactured by ceramic technology.

      The relationship between the resistance value of the thermistor and the temperature is approximately in line with the law of exponential function, and the resistance-temperature characteristic curve can be drawn, and the resistance value and temperature have a one-to-one correspondence. The resistance temperature characteristic can calculate the temperature level by measuring the resistance value, which is the basis for the temperature measurement of the NTC temperature sensor.

      The main features of NTC temperature sensor used in temperature measurement are:

      ① The sensitivity is high, the temperature coefficient of resistance is 10-100 times larger than that of metal, and the temperature coefficient is -3% to -6%, which can easily detect the temperature change of 0.1 °C;

      ②Wide operating temperature range, the normal temperature device is suitable for the temperature range of -55℃~350℃;

      ③Small size, the chip can be smaller than 0.3*0.3*0.2mm or even smaller, and can measure the temperature of voids, cavities and blood vessels in living organisms that cannot be measured by other thermometers;

      ④Easy to use, the resistance value can be arbitrarily selected between 0.1 ~ 1000kΩ;

      ⑤It is easy to process into complex shapes and can be mass-produced;

      ⑥Low price and high cost performance.

      Due to the above characteristics of the NTC temperature sensor, in terms of application, it can not only be used as a measuring element (such as measuring temperature, flow, liquid level, etc.), but also as a control element (such as thermal switches, current limiters) and circuit compensation components . NTC temperature sensors are widely used in household appliances, power industry, communications, military science, aerospace and other fields, and the development prospects are extremely broad.
