Terminology for NTC temperature sensors.SMD light sensor

　　Probe assembly is a finished thermistor assembly composed of a thermistor casing, extended leads, and sometimes a connector.

　　R0: The resistance of a thermistor at zero power at a specified temperature

　　R-T curve thermistor and thermometer or graph

　　Radial curve: The lead wire of an electronic component that leads out of the component body in a straight line from the center to the edge. The leads continue to lead outward parallel to each other.

　　Ratio, 0 to 50: The number (ratio) obtained by dividing the resistance of a thermistor at 0 ° C by its resistance at 50 ° C, which can be expressed as a slope and facilitates comparison.

　　Resistance: The characteristic of electrical equipment that obstructs the flow of current.

　　Resistance deviation: The additional tolerance caused by a change in slope compared to the specified nominal resistance temperature curve. Added to the 25 ° C tolerance, a chart is provided for this purpose (see foldable insert on the back cover)

　　Resistivity: The property of the material's body resistance when reduced to a standard unit shape, which is taken as 1 cubic centimeter and measured in ohms centimeters. It is beneficial for predicting the actual resistance of thermistors with known resistivity and its size.

　　Response time: The time required for the temperature step change indicated by the thermistor to reach the specified quantity range

　　Self heating: The temperature of the thermistor increases due to the power dissipation within the thermistor.

　　Slope: The steepness of the resistance temperature curve within the specified temperature range. Usually specified as a change in ohms per ° C or a change in value per ° C: [%] (also known as α)。

　　Thermistor: A temperature sensitive ceramic resistor.

　　Time constant: The time required for the temperature step change indicated by the (T.C.) thermistor to reach 63 [%].

　　Wattage: Unit of measurement of power consumed or dissipated by electrical components
