      Soil temperature is the temperature in the soil below the ground level. Mainly refers to the temperature in the shallow underground layer directly related to plant growth and development. Soil temperature directly affects the degree of plant growth and the rate of fruit ripening. Proper temperature control is beneficial for the growth of plant roots. If the temperature is too high, the root system will be damaged, while if the temperature is too low, the root system will grow slowly. If the temperature is too low, the root system may also freeze. But soil temperature changes more slowly than air temperature. The quality of soil temperature directly affects plant growth. Therefore, it is necessary to use NTC temperature sensors to monitor temperature.

      The probe type NTC temperature sensors produced by domestic temperature sensor manufacturers have a relatively small volume and are packaged into stainless steel probes using NTC thermistors, in order to better measure the temperature of soil at different depths. The soil temperature sensor needs to be corrosion-resistant and can be inserted into the soil for a relatively long time. Therefore, the soil temperature sensor uses a stainless steel temperature sensing probe connected to a Teflon wire to achieve corrosion resistance.
