The fan is controlled by heating an NTC thermistor, where the speed of the fan depends on the temperature of any device, like a PC. As the temperature of the device increases or decreases, the fan speed increases or decreases, respectively. Therefore, it can be mainly used as a cooling device. With a slight modification to the circuit, it can also be used to control room temperature, depending on the characteristics of the thermistor. The thermistor used in the circuit here decreases its resistance as the temperature increases, so the conductivity also increases, increasing the voltage, which results in an increase in the fan speed. Therefore, when the temperature of the device changes, the speed of the fan can be automatically controlled.
